DIS Sensors, bv proudly announced the company earned the new ISO 9001:2015 certification earlier this year! DIS Sensors received its first ISO 9001 certificate in April 2000, where the focus was mainly on procedures and instructions. The new version of the standard ISO 9001:2015, which replaces the ISO 9001:2008 certificate, has fewer requirements and emphasizes the organization’s performance.
ISO 9001 is an international standard that imposes requirements on an organization’s quality management system. The focus is on client satisfaction and the resulting quality assurance and ongoing improvement. For any organization seeking ISO 9001:2015 certification, the point of departure is that you must say what you do and do what you say and be able to prove your actions. DIS Sensors keeps this in mind at all times. “DIS Sensors has an effective quality management system that is fully embedded in the organization. The described and implemented management system complies with the requirements of the reference standard,” as per the independent auditor’s report.
Changes in ISO 9001:2015
The new ISO 9001:2015 certificate has undergone several changes compared to the ISO 9001:2008 certificate. While the old standard was still fairly prescriptive, ISO 9001:2015 asks you to look at who you are as an organization. What added value do you provide to your environment and what are the business risks?
The most important changes in a nutshell are:
- A stronger focus on leadership and involvement from top management
- Risk-oriented thinking as the basis for the management system
- A broader view of risk management and dealing with opportunities
- Emphasis on measuring and adjusting objectives
- Mandatory procedures are no longer required, but documented information is
- The new certificate is valid for a period of three years
DIS Sensors, bv undergoes an annual (internal and external) assessment to ensure compliance with the requirements of the standard.
