XLS Laser micrometers are available in packages and models tailored to continuous in-process measurement for the wire drawing and extrusion industries. We can measure non-round wire in addition to round wire with our unique oscillation system. With this system, precise alignment control of the wire is not required. Our Wireline series laser micrometer performs exceptionally well with wire vibration and can be equipped with special sir windows which clean the wire prior to measurement and keep the laser micrometer optics clean for longer durations.

The wireline series provides outstanding results for in-line measurement of wire drawing processes. The laser micrometers are specially designed to deal with wire whip and flutter. The special air wire cleaning devices keep the laser micrometer optics cleaner longer than any competitor's gauge. When the system is properly equipped, the wire length can be monitored in addition to the wire diameter.

The Quadraline series provides outstanding results for in-line measurement of non-round wire during a rolling or drawing process. This is the only laser micrometer system of its kind to offer an oscillating device so that wire orientation is not critical within the measuring field. The oscillation permits the system to find either min or max measurements for width and height.
