Measure
length of long tubes in process with a laser displacement
sensor and Measure Tracks for Tubes
software. Long range sensors permit wide length ranges to be
measured without altering the sensor set-up. Our software
permits measurements of the tube wall edge only. We have
installed laser sensors for length measurement in applications where
the tubes roll past the sensor. A single sensor measure the
location of the tube end while the opposing end is held against a
reference edge.
You
can also measure
diameter and ovality of tubes in process using laser
micrometers and Laser
Mic Monitor software; We can measure tubes and
bars in piecewise or continuous processes. Laser micrometers can
be applied to tube mills, grinders, straighteners, and specialty processing
equipment.
Our
Chamfer Scan laser profiling system is a semi-automatic
laser measurement machine for tube ID and OD chamfers. The system can measure chamfers from "edge
breaks" through larger size chamfers. We have measured
angles as steep as 20 degrees from the tube axis. Short tubes
are inserted into the machine's three jaw chuck from the front and longer tubes
are inserted from the rear. The machine scans across the face of the tube
and rotates the tube to several preset indexes, so that scans can be taken at
various index angles.
